Graduate Engineer – Co Down

The successful applicant will join the M&E team working for the Project Manager within a developed small team environment involved in a wide-ranging role which could include (project dependent) design, bid preparation, specification and tender preparation, site asset surveys, as well as part-time site supervisory roles on wastewater construction sites schemes. Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for working within the team to provide a complete mechanical/electrical/civil solution within tight timescales and to tight budgets. There are significant long-term opportunities for career progression. Candidates will need to be a good communicator and have a working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Collaborating with team members to deliver an effective and professional service to our clients
  • Assist with bid preparations and report production
  • Specification and tender preparation
  • Liaise with suppliers on product selection and procurement
  • Review design deliverables to ensure projects targets are being achieved
  • Provide Engineering support to senior design staff and project delivery teams
  • Part-time site supervisory role
  • Be able to ensure compliance with current industry standards and to work with all stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes
  • Be able to produce clear and concise written documentation for operational staff who undertake ongoing operation and maintenance of plant

Essential Experience/Skills:

  • HND / Degree qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering as a minimum.
  • Experience using AutoCAD.
  • Commitment to working in, and comply with a high standard health and safety environment.

  • Able to carry out mechanical design as well as having an understanding of pumping systems and pump selection.
  • Able to understand and produce P&IDs as well as have experience in producing technical documents such as mechanical specifications, general, outline and detained system design drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment, although must be able to self-manage.
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Experience/Skills:

  • Graduate Member of IET/CIWEM, ideally working towards chartered status.
  • Previous experience working within an M&E team in the wastewater industry.
